Joyce Owens earned degrees from Howard University (BFA) and Yale University (MFA) She has exhibited in galleries and museums across the country and is in private and public collections including producer historian, Lerone Bennett, producerBill Kurtis, Ch. 7's Bill Campbell

She exhibits her work each year at Mary K. O'Shaughnessy's Wood Street Gallery and Sculpture Garden, Susan Woodson Gallery and the (historic) South Side Community Art Center in Bronzeville. Ms. Owens teaches painting and drawing at Chicago State University and is married with two teenaged sons.
